The Virginia Genealogical Society is seeking proposals from dynamic and engaging speakers for our virtual 2025 Fall Conference. The submission deadline is 31 May 2025.
OVERVIEW
- Date: Friday-Saturday, 3–4 October
- Virtual: All sessions will be livestreamed, and video recordings will be available to all registrants for 60 days.
- Deadline for submissions: 31 May 2025
- Notification of acceptance: 15 June 2025
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
- You may submit up to four lecture proposals.
- You will have a total of 60 minutes for each presentation, including a question-and-answer (Q&A) session with the audience. The lecture should be a minimum of 45 minutes, and the Q&A should be at least 5 minutes.
- A handout, up to eight pages in length, must be submitted in advance.
- Although we welcome any genealogy-related topic, preference will be given to topics that involve Virginia and/or rely heavily upon Virginia examples. Topics that are primarily historical in nature are also welcome if they can assist with genealogical research.
COMPENSATION
- A $200 honorarium per lecture, plus a $25 bonus will be paid if all deliverables are submitted by the deadline
- Free conference registration, including access to all video recordings for 60 days.
