DESCRIPTION:Experienced genealogists can provide an invaluable service to the places in which they live.  Many of these communities are “genealogy deserts.”  The presenter will share details of a long-term\, ongoing mission revolving around an assortment of straightforward\, innovative\, and pioneering projects and activities targeting a specific community.  The overarching goal being to help community members and organizations where they are\, add to the historical record\, and use your skills for the public good. \nTimothy N. Pinnick is an avid genealogist and lover of local history that has been sharing his knowledge on the national level for nearly 2 decades. Tim has served in the past on the boards of the Association of Professional Genealogists\, Genealogical Speakers Guild and Federation of Genealogical Societies.  In the summer of 2024\, he was appointed to a 3-year term on the Cape Fear Museum Advisory Board in Wilmington\, North Carolina. \nHe is the Lead Researcher for the New Hanover County Community Remembrance Project (NHCCRP)\, formed in 2019 and his efforts now center on developing a network of individuals\, groups and organizations working to gather\, share and preserve the history and stories of the Wilmington African American community. \n  \n Register for the Webinar\n
