The Spring Conference of the Virginia Genealogical Society (VGS) will be held at the Library of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia, on Saturday, April 6, 2002. The Library is located at 800 East Broad Street.
SPEAKERS:
Mary McCampbell Bell, CLS, CGL, specializes in colonial Virginia and land platting and is currently a trustee of the Board for Certification of Genealogists. She is a former president of the National Capital Area Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists and former member of the Board of Governors of the Virginia Genealogical Society.
Eric G. Grundset has been Library Director for the Daughters of the American Revolution in Washington, D.C. since 1983. He is a former President of the Virginia Genealogical Society and is the author of several books on Virginia genealogical topics.
Charles S. "Chuck" Mason, Jr., CGRS, specializes on southern New Jersey research and 19th and 20th century death records. He is a graduate of NIGR and NGS's home study course. Chuck is currently serving his second term as President of the Mt. Vernon Genealogical Society, is the secretary of the NIGR Alumni Association, and a director of the Northern Virginia Association for History. He has lectured at many of the genealogical societies in the Washington, D.C. area.
Diane Nesmeyer, is an active researcher in 19th and 20th century records, has lectured for genealogical societies in Virginia and Pennsylvania and conducted seminars for the Prince William County Public Library. She is currently teaching introductory and intermediate level genealogical courses through the Continuing Education Department of Northern Virginia Community College in Woodbridge.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
There are several hotels near the Library of Virginia: The Richmond Marriott (804) 643-3400, and the Richmond Omni (804) 344-7000. Both have weekend rates.
There are several parking lots near the Library. Parking in the Library lot is reserved for library patrons and is not permitted for conference attendees.
OTHER:
Vendors of books, software, forms, and other items of interest to researchers
will be available all day. Be sure to visit them at breaks.
Please note if a vegetarian meal is requested. Pre registration by March 25, 2002, includes lunch. Meal reservations received after this date cannot be guaranteed.

After March 25, 2002, registration is $35.00 ($40 non-VGS member).
Cancellations received after March 25, 2002, will not be refunded.
