The Fall Conference of the Virginia Genealogical Society (VGS) will be held at the Library of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia, on Saturday, October 9, 1999.
SPEAKERS:
John Colletta is a Washington-based genealogist who conducts workshops for the National Archives, teaches courses for the Smithsonian Institution, and lectures nationally. He is a faculty member of the Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research at Samford University, and the National Institute on Genealogical Research. His publications include two books, They Came in Ships: A Guide to Finding Your Immigrant Ancestor's Arrival Record and Finding Italian Roots: The Complete Guide for Americans, and numerous articles.
Marty Hiatt, CGRS, a Governor of VGS, currently serves as president of the Loudoun County Genealogical Society. She is the Executive Director of the Board for Certification of Genealogists, and editor and publisher of Northern Virginia Genealogy.
Dorothy A. Boyd-Rush, Ph.D., is dean of the Graduate School at James Madison University where she is also Professor of History. President of VGS, and contributor to the Magazine of Virginia Genealogy, she is a prolific author and much sought-after speaker.
Marie Martin Murphy, CGRS, is a professional genealogist and lecturer, and VGS vice-President. She is a charter member of the Genealogical Speakers Guild, and trustee of the Association of Professional Genealogists.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
There are several hotels near the Library of Virginia: The Richmond Marriott (804) 643-3400, and the Richmond Omni (804) 344-7000. Both have weekend rates.
There are several parking lots to the west of the Library. Parking in the Library lot is reserved for library patrons and is not permitted for conference attendees.
OTHER:
Vendors of books, software, forms, and other items of interest to researchers
will be available all day. Be sure to visit them at breaks.
Please note if a vegetarian meal is requested. Pre registration by September 24, 1999, includes lunch. Meal reservations received after this date cannot be guaranteed.
