We are pleased to announce the upcoming 2-day VGS Fall conference to be held October 17 and 18, 1997, at the new Library of Virginia, 800 East Broad Street, Richmond, VA 23219-1905.
This first VGS conference to be held at the Library will provide an opportunity for attendees to explore the layout and some of the offerings of the new facility.
Day one will focus on preservation and access, and feature speakers:
Day two will explore research methodology, and feature speakers:
A Friday evening presentation will be given at 6:00 p.m. on "The Washington Papers," by Dr. Jack Warren. This will be in conjunction with an annual meeting of the Friends of the Virginia State Archives.
A group of rooms is being held at a conference rate at the adjacent
Marriott Hotel on Broad Street, downtown Richmond. The rate for lodging is:

cannot take registrations over the Internet. Fees depend on whether or
not you wish to attend the full 2-day conference, have us provide you lunch,
