VIRGINIA GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY
Virginia Institute of Genealogical Research

Roslyn, Richmond, Virginia
August 4-8, 1998

The Society will sponsor its second Virginia Institute of Genealogical Research (VIGR) in Richmond, Virginia, August 4-8, 1998. Virginia offers researchers a wealth of genealogical and historical records, many of which are available in the metropolitan Richmond area.

VIGR focuses exclusively on Virginia topics and methods in two levels of instruction. The introductory course covers Virginia history, geography and surveys of various record groups; topics in the advanced course concentrate on the application of interpretive and analytical methods to solve research problems. This year's offering will also include a field trip to local repositories.

VIGR will be held on the peaceful 186-acre campus of Roslyn, the Virginia Episcopal Diocesan Center, which overlooks the James River and is only minutes from downtown Richmond. Registration is limited. Address any questions to the Society office.
